- Guild and Officer chat should be in character whenever possible. Out of character chat can be denoted with double parentheses and is highly discouraged; however, a designated OOC chat channel will be available for use, and there, members are encouraged to enjoy chatting about whatever they like.
-Griefing is never allowed. IC/OOC, on the official forums, in game, or in channels. If someone is being rude to you /ignore them or walk away. If they harass, petition a GM. If their RP is lore godmoding/not to your standards just ignore it.
- We highly encourage all members to remain flagged for PVP; this adds a sense of risk and realism to our roleplaying efforts. Do not bluewall (surprise attack other players while not flagged). It is cheap and rude.
- "Adult" RP or ERP is fine so long as it's kept private and all parties involved agree to it. In short, no means no, and don't approach people unsolicited.
- The only topics off limits in chat and the forums are IRL politics and religion. We're a diverse group of people, and are here to provide a welcoming environment.
- "Investigator" is a trial rank. We do expect you to put in some IC and OOC effort to remain in the guild as we do not want to be just a parking space for your character.
- Our guild is NOT authoritarian in nature. If you have suggestions or things you'd like to change about how we do things, discuss it with an officer. We welcome new ideas, and while we may not be able to implement them all, your perspective is valued and your forthrightness appreciated.
- Essentially, the way you act IC and OOC reflects on The Aetheric Order. As you will be carrying our guild tag under your name, we'd like to keep our good standing reputation on Wyrmrest Accord.
- While lore is bendable, please do not utterly shatter it into pieces. Most of us are interested in lore on an OOC basis, so if you are not sure on game lore, feel free to ask on the forums. We like those discussions!
- Events and instance groups composed entirely of guild members should remain in character as much as possible. Out of character communication can be denoted with double parenthesis.
- Please take the time to download and fill out your MyRoleplay profile a bit. This will help guild members and strangers get a feel for your character and encourage more open-world RP. More fun for everyone!
- You must have a biography of your character posted on the forums to even be considered for full membership. The correct forum to post it in is The Athenaeum's "Character Bio" Thread.
- As Guild and Officer chat are always IC, we will treat any "mistells" into guild chat as your character actually saying them. It has happened to us all at least once and it generally sparks some amusing conversations.
- Walk-ups with characters who are not part of the guild are highly encouraged; Go out and make friends!
- When engaging members outside the guild in walk-ups, please remember to use your best RP manners, while remaining true to your character.
- If you decide, for whatever reason, that The Aetheric Order just is not the guild for you, please don't just /gquit without a word. Talk to an officer to let us know why you're leaving. We can't fix any potential problems that might have happened/ be happening if we're not aware that they exist.
